Pepper and
Joana - Jo is a native of Brazil and was born and raised in
Itacoatiara. Pep is originally from Madison, Wisconsin but has lived in
California, Kentucky, and Illinois and spent 9 years in Chicago before
moving to Brazil over 9 years ago.
After having many friends and acquaintances come down to visit the
Amazon, they found they were disappointed because it was either too
touristy with large groups, too pricey or stuck in a group doing not
exactly what they had wanted to.
Jo and I decided to open up our home and plan trips that we enjoy
doing. I kid my friends that I am living out my "Indiana
Jones" fantasies.
We offer a discreet, exclusive stay programming along with you what YOU
WANT TO DO. Everything is flexible and can be changed at a moments
notice during your visit.
For the first night of your visit to Jo and Pep's Amazon B&B we
have a small informal BBQ with live music. This is a good opportunity
to meet the people who will be accompanying you during your stay. And
to go over details and questions you may still have.
We are not touristy, not flashy or fancy, and are not pricey. We are
very cool young couple (our friends tell us) who enjoy having fun and
showing everybody the treasures of Amazon.
We like to explore, dance, drink beer and caiprahinas while meeting
people and making new friends. |

think my favorite part of the Amazon trip to Pep & Jo’s was ending a day of lazy cruising on
the river at a small hilltop house in the interior with a local family. The
matron of the house, a teacher, cooked up some of the best fried fish I
ever had (Piranha and more!) Then we all ate together around their modest
table, sharing across language and social barriers. It was the stuff that
