From the narrow deck we watched the sun lean
out of heaven to touch the surface of the water, and narrowed our eyes at
the bright flash of retort. On the branches of fallen trees sat thousands
of cormorants with hard, cruel beaks. Once in a while a bird would dive,
scarcely rippling the reflection, and emerge with a squirming silver
fish. Urubu, the black and white vulture of South America swept
noiselessly and without effort, high above the forest that lined the
banks. It was one of these occasions when my companion said: "Thank
God for wanderlust," quiete quitely.

We offer both day and overnight
trips. This is a good way to cruise the Amazon and its tributaries.
We offer hikes, visiting with locals in the interior, BBQ's,
farinha production farms (Crunchy food made from Manioc root),
fishing for piranhas and catfish, bird watching and animal
sighting, fresh water dolphins. Boat comes with full crew and all
food and beverage provided with package. On this boat trip YOU tell
the Captain where you would like to go and what you would like to
see. YOU plan the hikes anytime of the day or night with our
guides.

We offer a
variety of walks into the forest. Long nature walks with our guides
to experience first hand being in the Amazon jungle. A lot of our
jungle walks are in conjunction with our boats trips.

All our friends who have met
Flavio find him to be a jewel here in the Amazon. Flavio and Pep
will guide you on a day (or days) of fishing for the prized Peacock
Bass on a nearby lake. The best time of the season is August
through October.
We
can almost guarantee you a fish!! Expect no fancy boats here. We
use a few traditional wooden boats with motors that enable us
access to shallower water.
During
the dry season (October thru December) sometimes the water gets too
low to use fishing rods. This is a fun time to net and harpoon fish
with Flavio and Pep's guidance.
We
normally catch fresh water rays, small crocodiles and an assortment
of fish. Also during the high season this lake is excellent for
bird watching

There tons of lakes and rivers in
the area. We can put together a package where you fish all options
here. And if you like one area we can return day after day during
your visit. Also overnight and long weekend trips available up and
down the river for fishing

This is a favorite for Jo and I
and our friends. (We took our wedding party as well) Everybody that
has gone up to hike and swim the falls has fallen in love with the
place.
There
are over 10 waterfalls and hikes that we can do usually in 2 days.
I sent some folks up from the WWF - Europe and they raved about how
beautiful the place was. As a package we arrange all the
transportation, hotels and food.

We offer guided trips thru the
sights of Manaus. What you won't get is something
"touristy" with us. We can arrange visits to the Opera
House, Central Market, Museum of Natural History and more. Explore
the nightlife and the beaches of Ponte Negra. And we will show you
some of the better dining. Also we can plan a fun trip up to the
"meeting of the waters" where the Rio Negro and Rio
Solimoes meet to form the Amazon.
The
two rivers are colored differently and the colors run side by side
for many miles before mixing. Included in this day trip is a ride
thru the small tributaries of the Rio Negro across from the skyline
of Manaus. Many tour operators will take you to a pre-arranged
"lunch and shopping" during the boat trips, which we will
not do unless you request it as this is geared strictly for
tourists and taking their money.

Our base
city is 2 1/2 hours east of Manaus. And is a typical Amazon River
port city. There a a few decent restaurants overlooking the
Amazon River for a nice dinner of traditional Amazon Fish dishes
or other delights.
Also
there are many small bars to hang out and interact with the
locals. Soccer games can be viewed and most of the time can be
played as well. The city has many small festivals thru out the
year. At the end of June is the Folklore festival which resembles
an old square dance. Jo puts me thru this every year with the
traditional dance sometimes going on for an hour or more
non-stop!!
The
locals are all very friendly and if you stay long enough its very
probable you will get invited over for a Sunday Churrasco!!
